As the Liberal Party’s Candidate for Carrum, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to represent my local area in the Victorian Parliament.
Some of my priorities are:
My greatest priority is to earn your confidence and trust as I seek your support to represent our community in Parliament. I look forward to working with you to ensure we achieve success for our community both today and in the years ahead.
My very best wishes,
Matthew Guy has announced plans for mandatory minimum sentencing for eleven of the most serious crimes as well as major reforms to bail, parole, policing and victims’ rights.
Violent repeat offenders will be given mandatory minimum sentences of 20 years for murder, 15 years for rape, and 10 years for a home invasion.
Under Matthew Guy, criminals who break bail will go straight to jail.
Unlike Daniel Andrews, only a Liberal Nationals Government will do whatever is necessary to ensure that safety comes first and give victims and the community a real voice in our justice system.
We need stronger laws and courts that are prepared to better reflect community expectations right across sentencing for serious crimes.
A Liberal Nationals Government will commit between $4.1 billion to $5.3 billion to removing traffic lights and roundabouts through grade separations at 55 of Melbourne and Geelong’s most congested intersections on our busiest arterial roads.
Removing these suburban congestion hotspots will make our roads safer and keep traffic flowing which means less time spent sitting in gridlock and more time at home with family and friends.
It also means people like tradies, couriers and salespeople who use the roads to get between jobs, will be able to do so more quickly. That’s good for business and good for jobs.
One thing is certain: if you stick with Daniel Andrews, you’ll be stuck in traffic. Spending $1.3 billion to cancel East West Link showed us what he thinks about fixing our nightmare traffic.
Our plan will get Melbourne and Geelong traffic moving.
Daniel Andrews is doing everything he can to drive up the cost of living for Victorians.
Before the election Daniel Andrews promised no new taxes but since then he has introduced 11 new taxes that have increased overall tax by over 20%. On top of that, he has forced the closure of Hazelwood which has seen sky-rocketing electricity costs and he wasted over $1.2 billion of taxpayers’ money on tearing up the East West Link contract.
If the Andrews Labor Government isn’t wasting taxpayers’ money, its rorting taxpayers’ money and then putting up taxes to cover for it.
I believe the best way to support Victorians with cost of living pressures are to stop Labor’s gouging of the taxpayer and to help create good jobs that offer more security and better opportunity.
